Your privacy is our top priority. Traduco sends text to our server only when you actively switch to the Traduco keyboard for translation. We never store your messages, never log translations, and never sell data. The translation is processed and immediately forgotten.

Why does Traduco ask for Full Access in Settings?

iOS requires Allow Full Access for any keyboard that needs network access. Without it, Traduco can't connect to our AI translation service. We only use network access to translate your text. Nothing else is accessed or transmitted.

How do I set up the Traduco translation keyboard?

It takes about 30 seconds. Open the Traduco app, follow the setup guide — it walks you through adding the keyboard in iOS Settings and enabling Full Access. After that, just tap the globe icon in any app to switch to Traduco.

What languages does Traduco support?

Traduco can detect any language you type in — there's no limit on input. For translation output, we currently support 25+ target languages: English, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, French, Portuguese, Turkish, Korean, and Uzbek.

Is Traduco really free?

Yes. The free tier gives you 10 translations per day with Auto tone detection. New users get a 7-day trial with unlimited translations and all features.

What is the difference between Auto, Casual, and Formal tones?

Auto detects the appropriate formality from your text. Casual uses informal pronouns and relaxed grammar. Formal uses polite pronouns and professional language. This matters especially in languages like French, German, Korean, and Japanese.

Privacy Policy

Traduco ("we", "our", "the app") is a keyboard translation app developed by Javlonbek Elamonov. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Text you translate: When you switch to the Traduco keyboard, the text in the current text field (or only the text you selected) is sent to our server and translated by OpenAI. Nothing is sent before you switch to Traduco, and only after you have allowed AI translation in the app. To speed up repeated requests, the text and its translation may be kept in our server’s memory for up to 24 hours (see Data Retention). This cache is not linked to your device identifier.

Device identifier: A random UUID generated on your device and stored in the iOS Keychain. It is sent with each translation request and used to enforce daily usage limits. Our server also counts how many different devices translated each day; only that total is stored, never the identifiers. The identifier is not linked to your Apple ID or personal identity.

Subscription identifier: The anonymous RevenueCat user ID created by the app. It is sent with translation requests so our server can confirm an active subscription with RevenueCat.

Translation history: Your last 50 translations are stored locally on your device using iOS App Groups. This data never leaves your device.

Subscription status: Managed by RevenueCat. On your device we store only whether you are subscribed and when the current period ends. We do not have access to your payment information.

Anonymous usage statistics: Counts of app and keyboard actions (for example, onboarding step reached, translation completed, Replace tapped) and your answers to an optional in-app survey, tagged with the app version and the date. Each action is sent to our own server as a name plus a few fixed values (for example, the selected tone or plan). The statistics include no text, no device identifier and no IP address, and our server stores them only as aggregate daily counts (for example, “Replace tapped 120 times on version 1.0.3 on this day”), never as individual events. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy → Share Usage Statistics. Separately, our server counts the translation requests it handles in the same aggregate way (app or keyboard, app version, free or paid plan, result, text length range, language pair, response time); these counts are part of running the service and are not affected by that setting.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal contact information.

We do not collect your location data.

We do not collect data from other apps on your device.

We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Anonymous usage statistics are sent only to our own server.

We do not track you across apps or websites.

3. Keyboard Extension & Full Access

Traduco requires “Allow Full Access” to send your text to our translation server. Without Full Access, the keyboard cannot make network requests and translation will not work.

With Full Access enabled, Traduco reads only the text in the current text field when you switch to the Traduco keyboard. We do not have access to anything you type with other keyboards. We do not log keystrokes, passwords, credit card numbers, or any other sensitive input.

4. How We Process Translations

Your text is sent to our server via HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Our server forwards it to OpenAI’s API for translation and returns the result to your device. Before the first translation, the app asks for your permission to send text to OpenAI; without it, the keyboard does not send any text.

OpenAI processes the text under its API data usage policy. Under that policy, API data is not used to train OpenAI’s models by default and may be retained by OpenAI for a limited period (currently up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring.

5. Third-Party Services

OpenAI API: Used for translation processing. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat: Used for subscription management. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Fly.io: Our server hosting provider. Subject to Fly.io's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

Translation text: Kept in our server’s memory for at most 24 hours to serve repeated requests faster, then deleted. It is never written to disk or a database, and it is erased whenever the server restarts.

Device identifier (server): Kept in server memory only for the current day (UTC) to count daily usage, then discarded.

Subscription check (server): The result of a RevenueCat check is cached in memory for up to 10 minutes.

Anonymous usage statistics (server): Stored as aggregate daily counts for up to 24 months, then deleted.

Anonymous usage statistics (device): Actions not yet sent are queued on your device until they are sent. When you turn the setting off, nothing new is recorded or sent and all queued actions (from both the app and the keyboard) are deleted.

Device identifier (device): Stored in your device’s Keychain until you delete the app.

Translation history: Stored only on your device and can be cleared in Settings.

7. Account Deletion

Traduco does not require account creation or login, so there is no account to delete. All data stored on your device (translation history, preferences) is removed when you delete the app. Our server keeps no records about you: translation text, device identifiers and your daily usage counter are held only in memory for the short periods described above and are deleted automatically.

8. Children's Privacy

Traduco is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Your Rights

You can clear your local translation history at any time in the app’s Settings, turn off anonymous usage statistics in Settings → Privacy, and delete the app to remove all locally stored data.

European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom and Switzerland: Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, object to the processing of, and port your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. We process the text you translate to perform the service you request (performance of a contract). We collect anonymous usage statistics based on our legitimate interest in improving the app; they contain no identifier, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings. Because our server keeps translation data only briefly in memory and stores statistics only as anonymous aggregate counts, there is generally no server-side data that can be linked to you.

California, USA: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. Traduco does not sell or share personal information, and does not use it for advertising.

10. International Data Transfers

Your translation text is processed on servers located in the United States (Fly.io) and may be processed by OpenAI's servers in the United States. By using Traduco, you consent to the transfer of your translation text to the United States for processing.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means.
